Thoughts from the East
Due to the current local, regional, state and national situation regarding the coronavirus outbreak, and due to our concern for our many brethren who are in the 'high risk' category for this virus, we will not be holding our Stated meeting until we get the "all clear" from the Grand Master. Hopefully we will be able to return to normal this summer. In the meantime, we hope all of you remain safe from this epidemic and stay well.
We had an excellent 'Virtual District Meeting' on Monday, May 4, hosted by DDGM Steve Hamlin. Several lodges were represented (including, of course, Saint Andrew) and we had a great discussion. Everybody's hanging tight and doing as well as possible under the circumstances. I also want to thank WB Ted Yandle for the yard work and WB Ron Whitener for looking after our lodge building during all of this.
:We're still going strong on the 'Membership Memorial Project'. How would you like to have a permanent memorial to a loved one, gone or still with us, at our great Saint Andrew Lodge? You can do that with a donation of $100 or more to our building fundraiser. We will make a memorial plaque or nameplate, each of which will go on the chairs in our great lodge for everyone to see. I've sent everyone a letter about it with all the details. We look forward to hearing from you!
Please mark your calendars: St. Andrew Lodge meets on the third Wednesday of each month, beginning at 6:30 p.m..
A few brothers still need to send your dues in ($87) to me at 7306 Colby Court, Charlotte, NC 28226, so I can send you your 2020 dues card. We need prompt payment of dues to pay the bills for the lodge and we've recently had some unexpected maintenance expenses we need to handle. If you're having any difficulties and need help, please let us know and we'll work with you. Remember, if your dues are not paid by Dec. 31 of the current year, as of Jan. 1 in the new year you are NOT in good standing! (Several fall into that category, sad to say..
I hate to keep harping on that, but dues payments are how we pay our bills, so your help is appreciated. Your attendance would equally be appreciated!
Harvey Burgess, PM

FROM THE SOUTH: I want to thank everyone for their support of me this year. We are a family at Saint Andrew, and family sticks by family I hope you'll come join us whenever possible at your great lodge!

FROM YOUR TREASURER: We are encountering several unexpected expenses at Saint Andrew, including some general rehab work to our great building, including repairs of the roof and air conditioning.
